This year Bilingual Fair brought even more hope for the future of Bilingual Education in NY. Although the majority of participants represented predominantly French and German programs. Prospect Academy was among a few other schools offering multilingual learning concept. "The public opinion is changing in favor of multiple language learning and we believe that Americans begin not only to understand but also accept this educational approach as way to raise future generations” - says Fabrice Jaunt, PhD Education Attache in French Embassy of the US.
Among the most prominent presentations such as "Understanding the bilingual mind&brain" and "Dual Language Programs: a revolution in NYC public schools" was a conferral by Olga Liamkina, head of the Education Department of Goethe-Institut, NY: "Just add German: Let your kid stand out from the crowd".
Mrs. Liamkina impressed the audience with the latest research data on the subject of cultural, academic, professional and financial benefits of acquiring a foreign language in particular German. She also talked about several educational programs launched by Göthe Institut with the support of the German Government preparing the American and international high school students for studying in Germany. Those programs have been proved very successful with the Russian students, their graduates now attending the prestigious German universities.
Prospect Academy team took an active part participating in the ongoing discussions and our team was able to connect with the possible partners for the further improvement and expansion of our programs.
